Rules and Why Autovampirism is Bad

Autovampirism, (the drinking of one's own blood) does not provide a vampire with any energy, since the energy is just being recycled back into the system of the vampire. It is frowned upon by many in the community, who see it as a destructive act that provides no benefit. Using what has been said about Autovampirism, and applying the Laws of Thermodynamics we get The Laws of Vampirism.

The Zero Law

The Zero Law simply says there is no heat flow between objects that are the same temperature. Now if we alter the words to this statement we can have it apply to vampires. The Zero Law simply states there is no energy flow between people of the same energy level. Now what does this mean?

Explained: Vampires cannot feed from themselves because they would be feeding from the same energy level, they wouldn't be gaining energy, as there is no energy to gather from. Now for the aspect of feeding from other sources. A vampire cannot feed from an empty source. Its like taking money out of an empty bank account. Its not gonna happen. There is no "funds" to withdraw so the "transaction" would be declined. Now, a vampire cannot feed if he is already full. There, in fact, would be no need, and in fact if a vampire was to feed from another source, and that was drained, he would in turn drain himself. Why you might ask? It's simple. Read the Zero Law again. It may not explain it directly, but it states that if a drained source feeds from full source, it will become half full. Now if a vampire becomes greedy, the reverse will happen.

The First Law

The First Law is that heat cannot be created or destroyed.  Now how does this affect vampires? If energy cannot be created or destroyed then a vampire cannot feed from itself. It states that it cannot be created, so feeding from oneself will do no good. Doing such wont destroy the energy but recycle it back in. No energy is gained, but instead lost. The energy used in feeding is used in the process and escapes from the work of self feeding, leaving the vampire drained worse than before.

The Second Law

The Second Law The Second Law says that entropy always increases in a closed system. (A closed system is one that does not exchange any energy with the surrounding environment.) Entropy can decrease in an open system only if energy is received from an outside source. Whenever energy is received by an open system, the sum of the entropy open system plus the entropy of the outside source increases. Now what does this mean? "Entropy" is a quantifiable measure of how evenly distributed energy is. The results of countless calculations have shown that every time energy flows from a full spot to an empty spot, entropy increases. Every time energy flows from an empty spot to a full spot, entropy decreases. Now what this says is that entropy is like comfort. It lets us know if we are "hungry" or if we are "full". Basically it states:
1. If energy flows from a full spot to an empty spot, the empty spots entropy (or Comfort) is going to increase.
2. If energy flows from an empty spot to a full spot, the empty spots entropy is going to decrease, becoming less comfortable. Entropy can decrease in an open system ONLY if energy is received from an outside source. This means that the vampire
1. Has to feed from an outside source in order to sustain itself. Whenever energy is received by an open system, the sum of the entropy open system plus the entropy of the outside source increases.
2. Has to constantly find a source of energy to keep entropy increased, or it will start to decrease making the vampire tired again. The entropy of a closed system always increases if work is done (or if work is wasted). The only way the change in entropy can remain the same is if a "reversible" process occurs. For a process to be reversible, energy has to be transferred without any loss. This cannot happen for a vampire as we have an energy deficiency that causes us to look for that "lost" energy. There are some nearly reversible processes; but the Third Law (which we will see in a moment) says that there are no truly reversible processes. This means that a vampire is an open system. It constantly exchanges its energy with its environment, causing the need for a closed source, a source to feed from.

The Third Law

The Third Law says that an ideal engine would convert 100% of the heat into useful work only if its exhaust temperature were absolute zero. In other words, 100% efficiency is impossible. With this being said, a vampire must always feed, as it is not an ideal engine. It has leaks and flaws that causes us to have such an issue with retaining energy. Since 100% efficiency is impossible, it means that there are no truly reversible processes. That, in turn, means that all processes are irreversible. That means, all processes have a natural direction which causes entropy to increase. This is another reason vampire have to feed, as once the energy leaves the body it is gone. Once empty, the vampire must find a new source.

Now here's everything explained in the simplest of forms.
There is a fixed amount of energy in the universe. Energy is neither created, nor destroyed.
Energy is "organized" when there are some places that are abundant than others. (Example: Malls, grocery stores, largely populated areas of frequent travel...)
Energy always tries to disorganize itself by moving from a strong place to a weak place, spreading itself out as evenly as possible.
Entropy is a measure of how evenly spread out the energy is. (In other words, entropy is a measure of energy disorder, and applies to a degree of comfort.)
As energy flows from one place to another, it either does work or wastes the opportunity to do work.
Natural processes cannot violate these laws.

Terms to Know

-Turning - Turning is commonly believed to be impossible.
–Some debate the possiblitity of turning, however the belief is that the only way to create a vampiric condition in one not born with the condition would be to damage one’s chakra or energy body to such an extreme that it can not repair itself naturally. With the Metaphysical body being Parallel and connected to the physical body, this is considered dangerous and could result in dire consequences.
-It is said that it is believed there are none powerful enough nor crazy and heartless enough to attempt such a thing.

Awakenings: An awakening is the process of gaining awareness and coming to terms with one’s self and their being.
-Awakenings, in vampirism, are considered mainly spiritual, though they can effect or influence one mentally, physically and emotionally.
-Awakenings are not solely vampiric and can be had by anyone (spiritual, religious, etc).

-Pseudo-Vampirism: Also termed: Sympathy-, False-, or Temporary Vampirism.
-Caused when one is drained too much, and can not naturally replenish their energy to the point of needing to pull energy in from elsewhere. Pseudo-vampirism should go away with time.
-If a donor experiences symptoms of vampirism They should stop donating, rest and be given time to refresh their own energy systems.

Feeding

SANGUIN FEEDING

-Blood is believed to contain life energy, and for many vampires is the vessel from which they are able to attain the energy they require.
-Some exclusive Sanguine feeders will debate of a physical component in the blood, that they believe they need. As of yet, there have been no known findings by the medical or scientific fields to support this debate. -The taking of energy through the drinking of another’s blood
-Typically the amount of about a shot glass per month should suffice. Amount of need does vary depending on individual need and availability of donors.
-The person offering their blood to you MUST be a willing donor
-Do not become greedy. Be aware and mindful of the vampire’s need as well as the donor’s well being.

PRANIC FEEDING

Pranic vampires are vampires that feed psychically on life force energies. Pranic feeding (in any form) can be done from an individual (most often a willing donor) or from the ambient energies of a group or crowd. However, pranic feeding can also be done from a person without the person realizing that they are being fed from, although many may consider it to be unethical to do so. Generally though, the person being fed from is not harmed by the feeding in any way.

What is a Vampire?

Real Vampirism, as misleading the term may be, is considered a condition of one’s soul or metaphysical, energetic or subtle body.
-It is believed to be a “deficiency” of one’s life energy (Prana, Ki, Chi, etc) in which one must take either blood or energy from outside sources in order function comfortably and maintain one’s spiritual and physiological health.

Categories of Vampires

Some will say that there are two main different categories; Sanguin (who drink blood and draw energy from a physical source) and Pranic (which involves manipulating the energy of one’s surroundings and bringing it into themeselves) ; and that all other forms are subcategories or specializations of Pranic Vampires. Others will say that each feeding method is a different form of feeding, hence different "types" of vampires.

Subcategories of Pranic Vampires

Empathic vampires are vampires who feed on emotional life-force energies from the emotions of people.

There are those that will say that vampires that feed on negative emotional energies (anger, fear, etc.) are negative/chaotic vampires and are a subcategory/specialization of empathic vampires. Others will say that negative/chaos vampires are separate from empathic vampires. The reason is that empathic vampires will usually feed on whatever emotions a person is feeling without necessarily causing those emotions. However, often negative/ chaos vampires will cause situations where negative emotions and chaotic energies will be stimulated and then feed off of those energies.

Sexual vampires are vampires who feed on the life-force energies generated from having sex, especially the excess energies generated at the moment of orgasm. They can do so psychically and/or from bodily fluids.
Female sexual vampires are sometimes referred to as succubi (singularly, succubus), and male sexual vampires are sometime referred to as incubi (singularly, incubus).

Soul vampires are vampires that are able to feed directly off the energy of a person's soul.
As a result of soul feeding, soul vampires will sometimes gain some or all of the abilities of the person they are feeding from. Soul vampires will also sometimes receive memories, thoughts and desires of the person that they are feeding from. Soul feeding is a very intimate form of feeding, even more so than sexual and sanguine feeding.

Elemental vampires are vampires that are able to feed on the life force energies of the elements; earth, wind, fire, and water.
Some will say that elemental vampires are elementalists who are able to manipulate elemental energies and then convert those energies into consumable life-force energies. Others will say that elemental vampires feed directly from elemental life-force energies.
There are also those that will say that vampires who feed on life-force energies from plants and animals are also elemental vampires. However, there are those that distinguish such vampires as nature vampires.
Another method of feeding often considered a subcategory or specialization of elemental feeding is electrical feeding; the indirect feeding on energies in electrical fields and lightning. Others will distinguish such vampires as electrical vampires.

Astral vampires are vampires that are able to travel through the astral plane and feed off of the life-force energies of other entities within the astral plane, and/or they are able to materialize in astral form and feed off the life-force energies of people that are usually asleep.

Dreamscape vampires are essentially astral vampires that are able to enter into a person's dream, and feed from the life-force energies within the dream. They can be invisible observers in the dream, or they can manifest themselves within the dream.
Some are able to influence the course of the dream.

Vampires who only use one method of feeding are referred to by the way that they feed (i.e., sanguinarian, elemental vampire, sexual vampire, etc.). Vampires who are able to feed using some but not all psychic methods but are not able to feed sanguine are referred to as adaptive pranic vampires. Vampires who are able to feed using all psychic methods but are not able to feed sanguine are referred to as eclectic pranic vampires. Sanguine vampires that are also able to feed using some but not all psychic methods are referred to as adaptive vampires. Sanguine vampires who are also able to feed using all psychic methods are referred to as eclectic vampires.
